A man sentenced to die for strangling his 67-year-old neighbor wants his execution delayed because of last week's botched attempt to put another inmate to death.
Forty-three-year-old Lawrence Reynolds, scheduled to die Oct. 8, says the state of Ohio's unsuccessful attempt to execute Romell Broom shows lethal injection procedures are flawed.

Reynolds says 2006 and 2007 executions that took much longer than expected also show a pattern of problems with Ohio executions.

Attorneys for Reynolds say in a filing with the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Thursday that he should be allowed to challenge the constitutionality of Ohio's execution process.

Gov. Ted Strickland stopped Broom's execution Sept. 15 after two hours after executioners failed to find a usable vein.
