Death row inmate Curtis Thompson killed himself at Pontiac Correctional Center.

By Kent Casson

Authorities are investigating the death of a Pontiac Correctional Center inmate. Corrections officers found 66-year-old Curtis Thompson unconscious in his prison cell on Friday night. Department of Corrections spokesman Derek Schnapp says the death appears to be a suicide. Thompson was convicted of a triple murder in Stark County in 2002. Authorities say he shot a deputy and stole the deputy’s squad car and weapon, which he used to murder a couple that lived a block away. The killing spree was featured on A&E’s “American Justice” program in 2004.
