TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - A murder trial is scheduled to get under way for a 15-year-old accused of gunning down a Toledo police officer.
Jury selection was to begin Monday in the case of Robert Jobe (johb), who's being tried as an adult in the killing of Detective Keith Dressel.
The 35-year-old officer was shot early one morning in February when he stopped to question another man in a neighborhood troubled by violence and drugs. Dressel was the first member of the Toledo police force to die in the line of duty since 1970.
Jobe is charged with aggravated murder and murder and could be sentenced to life in prison without parole if convicted of the more serious aggravated murder count.
