As of July 1, 2006, there are 17 convicted murderers on Indiana's Death Row. (Includes Debra Denise Brown, held in Ohio serving an Ohio life sentence for Aggravated Murder) (Does not include Rufus Averhart/Zolo Azania, whose death sentence was vacated on appeal and remanded to Allen County, then dismissed pending retrial, and now has a State's Appeal pending) (Also does not include Paul M. McManus, whose death sentence was vacated on postconviction relief by the trial court, and now has a State's Appeal pending)
From 1977 through July 1, 2006 there have been 93 persons convicted of murder and sentenced to death in the State of Indiana. Nine (Moore, Averhart, Roark, Kennedy, Burris, Minnick, J. Lowery, J.K. Thompson, Kubsch) have been sentenced to death twice, following reversal on appeal. As such, there have been a total of 102 death sentences handed down in Indiana since 1977.

17 convicted murderers have been executed in Indiana since 1977: 3 by electrocution (Judy, Vandiver, Resnover) and 14 by lethal injection (T. Smith, R. Smith, Burris, Fleenor, Bivins, J. Lowery, Hough, Trueblood, Wallace, Benefiel, Johnson, Conner, Matheney, and Bieghler). Michael Lockhart was executed by the State of Texas in 1997 while appealing his Indiana death sentence. One convicted murderer, Jerry K. Thompson, was killed in 2002 by other prisoners while on death row.
