January 2006 - Charles E. Roche, Jr., convicted in Lake County of the 1990 murders of 25 year old Ernest Graves and 22 year old Daniel Brown, and sentenced to death, was found dead in his cell at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana of an apparent suicide by hanging. Roche was recently removed from death row when a federal judge vacated his death sentence in 2001. Roche was awaiting a resentencing trial in Lake County.
